- Almandine (red-brown to violet-red)

- Grossular (colorless, green, yellow, orange – incl. Tsavorite & Hessonite)
- Andradite (yellow, green, black – incl. Demantoid & Melanite)
- Uvarovite (emerald green, very rare)
- Rhodolite (raspberry red to violet-red)
- Malaya (orange-pink to peach)
- Color-Change (changes color depending on the light source)
- Blue (very rare, color-change garnet)

Garnets are available in many classic and modern cuts and shapes:

Inclusions & Characteristics
Garnets are natural stones – inclusions are a sign of authenticity and not a flaw. Only under a microscope does the true nature of the stone reveal itself.
Typical inclusions:
- Needle-shaped crystals (create the coveted asterism/star effect in cabochons)
- Fingerprint inclusions (healed fractures)
- Crystal inclusions (mineral crystals inside)
- Feather inclusions (partial fractures)
- Zoning (color bands or zones)
Quality Grades: Eye-clean (no inclusions visible to the naked eye) is considered premium quality. Slight inclusions are normal in natural stones and only marginally reduce their value. Strong inclusions can impair transparency and brilliance.
Special Feature: Demantoid garnets often show characteristic "horsetail" inclusions of byssolite fibers – a unique quality feature and proof of authenticity, not a flaw.
Treatment & Authenticity
Natural garnets are typically untreated – this makes them particularly valuable and authentic. Transparency in declaration is a matter of course for us.
Thermal Treatment (Heating): Rarely applied to some garnet varieties – garnets usually retain their color naturally and do not require treatment.
Filling with Glass/Resin: For heavily fractured stones – significantly devaluing, not in our assortment.
Untreated (Natural): The usual case for garnets – especially Demantoid, Tsavorite, and Rhodolite. Natural color without any interventions.
Authenticity Certificates: All our garnets are natural stones. Upon request, we provide certificates from renowned laboratories (GIC, GRS, Gübelin, SSEF). We do not carry synthetic or simulated stones.
